- Origin
– Gia Loc 37 was selected from a triple hybrid combination of Tequing/PC6//RVT.
– The variety was temporarily introduced in Decision No. 279/QD – TT – CLT dated August 30, 2019 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
– Authors: Nguyen Trong Khanh, Pham Van Tinh, Nguyen Anh Dung and Le Thu Hang
- Agronomic characteristics
– Growth duration: 120 days in spring season; 90 days in summer season; 85 days in summer – autumn season.
– Erect plant, medium height, vigorous growth and development, fast tillering, good panicle density, large and long panicles, 150-160 seeds/panicle, bright yellow grain, high ratio of grain filling (over 90%).
– 1000-seed weight (29-30g), amylose content (14.8%), high ratio of milling and whole grain, transparent grain, white rice, shiny, soft, flavor, light aroma (score 3).
– Withstand intensive cultivation.
– Harvested yield is from 60-65 quintals/ha in spring season and from 55-60 quintals/ha in summer season.
– Good resistance to brown plant hopper, medium resistance to blast, bacterial blight.
