TWO LINE HYBRID RICE HYT108

1. Origin

Authors: Nguyen Tri Hoan,  Le Hung Phong, Le Dieu My, Trinh Thi Lien, Nguyen Thi Hoang Oanh, Tran Nhu Thanh, Nguyen Van Nam, Nguyen Van Thu et al. – Hybrid Rice Research and Development Center – FCRI;

HYT108, a two line hybrid F1 hybrid, was developed combination of  AMS 30S/R108. It was introduced to production according to Decision No. 605/QĐ-TT-CLT dated 13/12/2010.

2. Major morphology and varietal characteristics

– HYT 108 has short growth duration of 120-130days in dry season and 100-105 in wet season

– Plant height 95-100cm, high tiller number, and good logging and cold resistance

– HYT 108 has consideration high panicle with 1000 seed weight 24 – 25 g.

– Average yield of 7.0-7.8tons/ha (DS) and 6.5-7.0tons/ha (WS)

– HYT108 has good disease resistance to major diseases and pests such as: Blast, BB, Sheath blight, BPH.

– F1 seed production f HYT108  is higher than three line hybrid F1.
