SQUASH THANH NGOC

1. Origin

– Thanh Ngoc was selected from a combination of BX7/TT5.

– The variety was introduced into production according to the Document No. 367/VCLT-KH, dated October 17, 2023 of the Field Crops Research Institute and posted on the database of the Department of Crop Production, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on December 6, 2023.

– Authors: Doan Xuan Canh, Nguyen Dinh Thieu, Doan Thi Thanh Thuy, Do Thi Thuy, Trinh Thi Lan and Truong Thi Thuong.

2. Agronomic characteristics

– Cultivate in spring-summer and autumn-winter season.

– Growth duration (95 – 125 days), first harvest (65-75 days after planting).

– Medium fruit size, fruit length (52 – 55 cm), fruit diameter (7.8 – 8.4 cm), fruit weight (1.5 – 1.6 kg).

– Dark green skin, thick and light green flesh.

– Dry matter content (4.37%), total sugar (3.78%), vitamin C (5.78 mg/100g) of fresh matter.

– Suitable for fresh eating and processing.

– Adaptable for Red River Delta and Northern Mountain regions.
