INBRED RICE GIA LOC 26

1. Origin

– Gia Loc 26 is an imported variety.

– The rice variety was introduced into production according to Decision No. 337/QD-TT-CLT dated December 23, 2020 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

– Authors: Nguyen Trong Khanh, Do The Hieu, Nguyen Anh Dung, Tran Thi Yen, Nguyen Phi Long and Nguyen Thi Ha Thu

2. Agronomic characteristics

– Growth duration: 135 – 140 days in late spring season and 115 – 120 days in summer season. The variety can withstand intensive cultivation.

– Good growth and development, good tillering (5-7 tillers/hill), large panicle, long and bright yellow grains, sparsely arranged seeds, 150-170 seeds/panicle, long grain (7.85 mm), transparent grain, soft, light aroma, average gelatinization temperature, amylose content (18%).

– Average harvested yield is from 71.2 quintals/ha in spring season and 64.3 quintals/ha or 75 quintals/ha with good intensive cultivation in summer season.

– Good resistance to blast, light susceptible to sheath blight, good cold tolerance and lodging resistance.
