1. Origin
– Thanh Ngoc was selected from a combination of Ha Chau/ So 1.
– The variety was introduced into production according to the Document No. 369/VCLT-KH, dated October 17, 2023 of the Field Crops Research Institute and posted on the database of the Department of Crop Production, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on December 6, 2023.
– Authors: Doan Xuan Canh, Doan Thi Thanh Thuy, Nguyen Thi Hai Yen, Nguyen Thi Trang, Nguyen Van Tan, Truong Thi Thuong.
2. Agronomic characteristics
– Cultivate in spring-summer and autumn-winter seasons.
– Growth duration (90-100 days), first harvest (25-30 days after planting).
– Vigorous plant, vine length (314.6 cm), medium branching.
– Long round pear shape of fruit, star-shaped dots on fruit skin, dark yellow and smooth flesh, fruit length (27-35 cm), fruit diameter (12-15 cm), flesh thickness (3-4 cm), fruit weight (3.0-3.3 kg), yield (35-37 tons/ha).
– Fruit dry matter content (11.63%), brix level (6.5-8.7%).
– Resistant to powdery mildew (score 2-3), heat tolerance.
– Adaptable for Red River Delta and Northern Mountain regions.
