AROW ROOT VARIETY DR1

1. Origin

Authors: Nguyen Thieu Hung, Do Thi Bich Nga, Trinh Van My, Tran Thi Thanh Huong, Dao Huy Chien, Le Thi Thuan – Root and Tuber Crops Research and Development Center – FCRI and Tran Ngoc Ngo – Agriculture Deparment of Binh Lieu, Quang Ninh province.

Arrow root variety DR1 was collected from Hoa Binh provine of Vietnam in 1993-1994.

2.  Major morphology and varietal characteristics

– Growth duration: 250-280 days

– DR1 has a strong growth and development, plant average height (165-185cm), logging resistance, uniform root and white starch.

– Average yield: 45 – 60 tấn/ha, Starch content: 13.36- 16.4%

– DR1 has wide adatation and can develop well both in in highland and deltal areas. It is a drought and cold tolerance and resist to leaf blast disease.
