– KL03 was selected from a free-pollination combination of VC424
– The variety was introduced into production according to the Document No. 122/VCLT-KH dated April 12, 2023 of the Field Crops Research Institute for the autumn-winter and winter-spring seasons in the Northern provinces.

- Agronomic characteristics
– Growth duration (140-145 days in winter-spring season; 110-120 days in autumn-winter season), good growth and development.
– Red tuber skin, dark yellow tuber flesh, 5.2 – 7.0 tubers/ clump, 602.0 – 684.0 grams of tuber/clump, fresh tuber yield (25.4 – 26.3 tons/ha), dry matter content (34.1 – 37.6%), starch content (26.30 – 26.64%), total sugar content (3.32%)
– Eating quality: friability (score 3), sweetness (score 3).
