SWEET POTATO VERIETY VĐ1

1.    Origin

– Sweet potato VĐ1 was setected from imported sweet potato varieties from Taiwan in 1999.  It was officially introduced to production according to Decision No.608/QĐ-TT-CLT dated 14/12/2010.

2.    Major morphology and varietal characteristics

–   VĐ1 leaves and tips can use as vegetable sweet potato. It’s quite special for it taste and quality.

–    VĐ1 has dark green stem and leaves. Leaf veins are clear and belongs to lobed leaf type with short leaf knot.

–    VĐ1 has high stem and leaf yield (45-48 tons/ha), tuber yield 915-20tons/ha), while starch, water content (76-78%), good eating quality, tuber can be used to propagation to recover varietal degradation.

–    VĐ1 has wide adatation and can grow in any time in the year, cold and drought tolerance .
