TWO LINE-HYBRID RICE HYT103

1. Origin

Authors: Nguyen Tri Hoan, Le Hung Phong, Nguyen Thi Hoang Oanh, Nguyen Thi Gam, Le Dieu My, Tran Duy Dong et al. – Hybrid Rice Research and Development Center, FCRI.

– HYT103, a two line hybrid rice F1, was developed from combination of AMS 30S/R100. HYT 103 was introduced according to Decision No. 88/QĐ-TT-CLT dated 22/4/2008.

2. Major morphology and varietal characteristics

– Growth duration: 120 – 130 (DS); 100 – 105 (WS)

– Plant height: 95 – 100 cm, high tiller number, green leaf, resistance to logging and cold

– Average yield: 7.0-7.8 tons/ha (DS), 6.5-7.0  tons/ha (WS), 100 seeds weight of 27 – 28g

– HYT103 has good eating quality , soft and aromatic. It was registed exclusive brand Thienhuong HYT92.

– HYT103 tolerant to major diseases such as: Blast, BB, sheath blight, PBH.
